Nahuel Molina is set to sign a new long-term contract with Atletico Madrid until June 2028.
Romano also stated that the new contract will include a €70 million release clause. According to Romano, the Argentine will be an important part of Atletico’s project both now and in the future.
According to Transfermarkt, Nahuel Molina only signed from Udinese in 2022, and his current contract is only valid until June 2027.
Molina has appeared in 14 games for Atletico Madrid this season, scoring two goals, assisting on three others, and playing 1,041 minutes.
This season, Diego Simeone has used Molina as both a right back and a right midfielder, demonstrating his versatility for the team.
Atletico Madrid currently sits third in La Liga with 31 points after winning 10, drawing one, and losing two of their first 13 games.
They are four points behind second-placed Girona and first-placed Real Madrid, both of whom have 35 points. However, both of those teams have played 14 games, so if Atletico wins their game in hand, they will be only one point out of first place.
