Ramsdale | The Gunners turned down proposal for the GK

An unnamed Premier League club reportedly approached Arsenal about goalkeeper Aaron Ramsdale.

Despite signing a contract extension earlier this year, Ramsdale’s future in North London has been called into question.

The 25-year-old played in all 38 Premier League games as Arsenal won the league last season, but has only made five appearances this season.

David Raya, a Brentford loanee, has taken over as England’s goalkeeper as Starting XI. Raya has established himself as Mikel Arteta’s number one since his arrival in the summer.

Ramsdale made his first Premier League appearance since September in Saturday’s win over Brentford, but he was only given the chance because Raya was ineligible to face his parent club.

With Raya still considered Arteta’s first-choice goalkeeper, it’s unclear whether Ramsdale will seek a move away during the January transfer window.

Ramsdale and Arsenal Stats

Ramsdale has previously stated that a lack of consistent playing time may jeopardize his chances of making Gareth Southgate’s England squad for Euro 2024.

According to football.london, an unnamed Premier League bottom-half club has already made an approach for Arsenal’s shot-stopper.

The Gunners are insisting on keeping the England international, so they refused the approach.

Wolverhampton Wanderers are reportedly considering signing the keeper on a loan with a buyout option.

Rumours have also circulated that the former Sheffield United player is interested in joining Arsenal’s London rivals Chelsea and German champions Bayern Munich.

While his future at the club remains uncertain, it is believed that Ramsdale will only consider leaving if a potential move away would help his career trajectory.

The Englishman’s current Arsenal contract expires in the summer of 2026, with a one-year extension option.

Ramsdale may start the Champions League match against Lens on Wednesday, with Raya returning to the starting lineup.
