The Magpies are interested in the Blues’ academy talent and want to buy him outright.

The 18-year-old has an agreement in principle for a new contract at Stamford Bridge, with Hall on the point of signing a new six-year contract with his boyhood club, before joining Crystal Palace on loan for the 2023/24 season.

Chelsea have spent nearly £900 million in three transfer windows since co-controlling owner Todd Boehly’s May 2022 takeover, and are preparing for more recruitment before the window shuts in two weeks.

Since breaking through in the 2021/22 season, Hall has made 17 first-team appearances for the Blues, and he was voted academy player of the year at the end of last season.

Head coach Mauricio Pochettino, on the other hand, has a stacked deck in the position, with Ben Chilwell, Marc Cucurella, and Ian Maatsen all ahead of the teenager.

The agreement is thought to have been pushed through by co-controlling owner Behdad Eghbali, who has been an active participant in Chelsea’s negotiations this summer.

Newcastle will soon annouce the new signing of Chelsea Star

Newcastle have previously considered signing Cucurella in order to improve their defensive ranks and give competition for regular starter Dan Burn.

The Tyneside club has had a busy transfer window thus far, having confirmed signings for Southampton’s Tino Livramento, demoted Leicester’s Harvey Barnes, and their marquee summer acquisition, Sandro Tonali, who was poached from AC Milan for £52 million.

The Italian midfielder made an impression on his debut, inking his name on the scoresheet after scoring one of the five goals that Newcastle scored against Aston Villa in a 5-1 victory at St James’ Park.
