PSV has signed Serginho Dest from Barcelona.
The Dutch club announced that they have loaned the Barcelona defender for a year with the option to buy.Serginho was assigned the number eight in the new club.Barcelona has stated that they will receive a portion of any later sale of the player.
It was previously believed that PSV could purchase Desta for ten million euros.Barcelona will pay half of the defender’s wages.
The Ajax graduate spent three seasons at Barcelona, appearing in 72 appearances. He won the Spanish Super Cup. He spent the season on loan with Inter, but only appeared in eight games.
PSV Eindhoven loaned Dest from FC Barcelona
According to the official announcement, Barcelona and PSV have agreed to extend the loan of Dest until June 30, 2024. The Dutch club has the option to purchase. Barcelona has the right to a portion of any future sale of the player.
After spending 2022/23 with Italian club AC Milan, the Netherlands-born international with the USA makes a loan move for the second season in a row. He will return to the Netherlands this season to play for Ajax before joining FC Barcelona in 2020. This time, he will return to his home country to play for PSV Eindhoven.
Dest has made 72 appearances for Barcelona, 56 as a starter, scoring three goals in his two seasons with the first squad. He will return to the Eredivisie after his season in Serie A, where he will team up with former Barça teammate Luuk de Jong.
