Neymar JR. earns him his fifth red card from PSG after terrible dive

The Brazilian Forward received his first caution for elbowing Strasbourg midfielder Adrien Thomasson at 61st minutes. Additonally, his second caution was for diving one minute later.

The forward protested directly to the official, Clement Turpin, but to no avail.

He received his fifth red card since joining PSG for a record 222 million euros ($236 million) in 2017. By the recent red card, he will miss Sunday’s match against Lens.

Since the 2017–2018 season, no other player has received a red card more frequently in the French league.

The forward was in tears after Brazil’s World Cup quarterfinal loss to Croatia. He set up Marquinhos for PSG’s first goal at Parc des Princes early in the game. The game was later sealed by Kylian Mbappé’s penalty deep into stoppage time.

It appears that Neymar Jr. did not stay to witness it.

According to Canal Plus, Neymar left the stadium shortly after being sent off.

This season, Neymar has 11 league goals and 10 assists for PSG, which is undefeated in the league.
