Nîmes Olympus announces new head coach Frédéric Bompard

Nîmes Olympus has named Frédéric Bompard as their new head coach. After the dismissal of coach Nicolas Usai, Bompard has been appointed till 2023/24 to turn things around. After Mehmed Badarevi’s departure last season, the longstanding assistant coach was named interim head coach of Guingamp. Guingamp, on the other hand, ended mid-table in Ligue 2, and Bompard was not re-appointed as manager at the end of the season.

Bompard will make his coaching debut against his former club after the break on December 26. Thibault Giresse, according to Nîmes Olympus, will join him as an assistant coach.

Nîmes Olympus currency is now 16th in Ligue 2 with only 15 points. Les Crocodiles have battled with consistency and will look to Bompard to help them get back on track. Ligue 1 fans will remember him as Rudi Garcia’s assistant, and while he lacks head coaching experience, his tenure with Rudi Garcia landed him on the bench of not only Marseille, but also Lille and Roma.
