Pau Torres joins Aston Villa on a permanent basis from Villarreal for €32.5 million plus €5 million in add-ons.
Pau Torres has been signed by Aston Villa from Villarreal.
Last month, the Athletic claimed that the Spain defender has agreed to personal terms with the club.
Torres, 26, emerged early in the summer transfer season as one of Unai Emery’s key objectives.
After working together at Villarreal, the left-footed centre-back will be reunited with Emery.
Torres was a vital player for Villarreal last season, appearing in 39 games as the team placed fifth in La Liga and qualified for the Europa League the following season.
He has 23 caps for Spain and was a member of the squad that competed in the 2022 World Cup in Qatar.
Torres joins Tyrone Mings, Ezri Konsa, Diego Carlos, and Caleb Chambers as Villa’s senior centre-back options. Torres is the club’s first addition since Spaniard Monchi was hired as sports director earlier this month.
Youri Tielemans has already joined the club on a free transfer from Leicester City.
