PSG has officially confirmed the signing of Benfica forward Goncalo Ramos.
The 22-year-old will join on loan, with PSG hoping to make the move permanent next summer.
Les Parisiens will pay €65 million for Ramos, plus €15 million in bonuses, for a total package worth €80 million.
Ramos’ stock skyrocketed after a successful season with Benfica last season and his heroics in the 2022 World Cup in Qatar.
Manchester United and Bayern Munich were keeping an eye on his status, but PSG were able to strike a deal because to their close relationship with his agent, Jorge Mendes.
Ramos had 27 goals and 12 assists in all competitions last season, finishing second in the Portuguese top flight (19 goals) to Porto’s Mehdi Taremi.
Among the summer acquisitions at Parc des Princes are Asensio, Ugarte, Kang-in, Lucas Hernandez, Cher Ndour, Skriniar, and Arnau Tenas.
PSG signed Benfica Striker on Loan Deal
PSG will be hopeful that Ramos can maintain his good form in Ligue 1. Ramos may continue to play a vital role under Luis Enrique in the near future.
Ousmane Dembele of Barcelona is reportedly the next player the team will sign, with additional acquisitions forecast.
PSG and Barcelona have reached a deal worth €50 million for the French winger.
However, a disagreement between the Catalan club and the player over the allocation of the transfer price is delaying his move to Paris.
Since PSG already agreed to personal terms with the French attacker, they are also keeping an eye on Kolo Muani. He is still in talks with Eintracht Frankfurt regarding a potential transfer.
Kylian Mbappe’s departure appears to be imminent, as he refuses to sign a new deal, while PSG insists he will be transferred this summer unless he signs an extension.
After submitting a transfer request, Neymar might follow him to the exit door.
