PSG WANTS TO SIGN MARCUS THURAM

June 7, 2023

PSG are interested in signing Borussia Mönchengladbach attacker Marcus Thuram (25). The France international will be a free agent once his contract with the Rhine side expires in June.

The Parisians are moving quickly during the summer transfer window. The Ligue 1 champions have already agreed to sign Sporting CP midfielder Manuel Ugarte (22) for €60 million and former Real Madrid player Marco Asensio (27) on a free transfer. Milan Skriniar (28) of Inter Milan will also enter the French capital on a free transfer.

L’Équipe reports that PSG and the oldest son of great defender Lilian Thuram have held constructive conversations. The former Guingamp striker is claimed to be interested in a move to the Parc des Princes, and PSG forward Kylian Mbappé (24) is said to be attempting to persuade Thuram to accept the move. Thuram was the one who helped Mbappé equalize against Argentina in the World Cup final with an incredible shot.

PSG Sporting director Luis Campos reportedly sees Thuram as the ideal target man and seasoned out-and-out striker that the squad is lacking, with Hugo Ekitike visibly underutilized. According to reports, the attacker has told his entourage that PSG is a good option for his future club. Khéphren Thuram’s older brother is vying for a spot in the France squad that will go to Germany for the Euro 2024. Playing for a high-profile Champions League side like the Ligue 1 champions would go a long way toward accomplishing that aim.
