Juventus FC is targeting Real Madrid CF’s defender Lucas Vasquez.
Real Madrid intends to spend heavily during the next summer transfer window. After all, considering the overwhelming quantity of player departures already completed, they don’t even have any alternative.
Over the last week, Los Blancos have lost Karim Benzema, Marco Asensio, Mariano Diaz, and Eden Hazard. While three of the four players were mostly on the bench, their presence in the team provided Carlo Ancelotti’s side with much-needed depth and a type of cushion.
As a result, the forward unit is the most priority department ahead of the transfer window. However, elements are falling apart on other fronts, potentially putting the club in a tough scenario.
Juventus FC wants Real Madrid’s Lucas Vazquez as a strong reinforcement
According to Gianluca Di Marzio, Juventus FC is interested in Lucas Vazquez and hopes to sign him in the following month. Contacts have been established between the two sides, and the transfer fee mentioned looks to be in the €6 million to €8 million range, considering that he has only one year left on his contract.
Given his lack of playing time at the Santiago Bernabeu, the youngster is eager to join the Italian giants. He obviously does not want to play second fiddle at the age of 31.
Last season, Vasquez appeared in 23 of Real Madrid’s 38 La Liga games, starting only 12 of them. He averaged only 50 minutes per game in his limited outings.
The veteran finished the season with four goals and an assist. In addition, he averaged five defensive actions and a critical pass per game and feels cheated by his restricted role.
Vazquez’s exit would put the club in a difficult position, leaving just Dani Carvajal as a natural right-back option. In principle, Nacho Fernandez may act as the backup, but a new signing for the role cannot be ruled out.
