PUMA and RB Leipzig enter into a long-term cooperation. The agreement lasts ten years and is worth €150 million.
RB Leipzig has established a new long-term collaboration with kit manufacturer Puma to furnish their kits.
This ends Leipzig’s 10-year collaboration with Nike. Puma will be the manufacturer starting next season. According to Sky Germany, the deal is valued at €100 million.
Puma already manufactures the kits for Borussia Mönchengladbach, Heidenheim, and Borussia Dortmund in the Bundesliga. The brand has a lengthy history, with some of these teams making kits for Gladbach during their golden age, while Puma also holds a 5% share in Dortmund and has been making their kit since 2012.
Puma also supplies boots to various players, notably Marco Reus, Kingsley Coman, Jonas Hofmann, and, more recently, Kai Havertz and Leipzig’s Xavi Simons.
The business was famously founded following a disagreement between brothers Rudolf and Adi Dassler. Rudolf would later build Puma, and Adi would create Adidas. Both brands are situated in Herzogenaurach, a town just outside of Nürnberg.
