Richarlison might miss up to a month after hurting his knee against the Wolves.

Richarlison could be out for a month with knee injury

It’s a major setback for both the player and the squad, as the Brazilian has nine goals in his previous ten Premier League appearances.

Ange Postecoglou told the club’s media outlets on Friday that “Richy picked up a knee injury in the last game and will be out for two or three weeks.”

“He’s had a great middle part of the season for us and been a big contributor but that’s kind of how his season has gone and we’ll just have to compensate for him not being there.”

Richarlison to undergo medical treatment following injury

Postecoglou later revealed at a news conference that “Richarlison’s out three to four weeks; he suffered a knee injury in the last game, so he’s out for a while.”

In Richarlison’s absence, captain Heung-min Son will lead the team, with Dejan Kulusevski, Timo Werner, and Brennan Johnson competing for the two supporting slots.

Right-back Pedro Porro is also absent after failing to recuperate from a knock that forced him to miss the home defeat to Wolves. Emerson Royal is expected to deputize again.

In better news, fellow full-back Destiny Udogie is back to full fitness and might start against Palace.

“Destiny has a chance for tomorrow; he trained, so we’ll see how he does. Pedro is probably still a week away.

Ryan Sessegnon, who underwent surgery on his right hamstring, is unlikely to play again this season. It’s a big setback for the young defender, who returned to duty in January after missing 11 months with an injury to his opposite hamstring.

Back-up goalkeeper Fraser Forster is out for several months with an ankle injury, while Manor Solomon is only a week away from recovering from knee surgery.
