Jude Bellingham 'set to return against Valencia'

Carlo Ancelotti has announced that Real Madrid midfielder Jude Bellingham “will play” when the club travels to Valencia in La Liga this weekend.

Bellingham has not played for Real Madrid since suffering a sprained ankle in his team’s 4-0 win over Girona in February. The 20-year-old scored twice in that contest.

Scans confirmed that Bellingham damaged his left ankle, forcing him to miss Real’s last three fixtures in all competitions against Sevilla, Rayo Vallecano, and RB Leipzig. Ancelotti, however, has confirmed that the England international will play on Saturday.

He said, “He’s 100%. The fact is that he hasn’t trained much with the team, but he’s doing exceptionally well with his ankle. He’s at full strength and will play tomorrow.

Bellingham’s two goals in the win brought his total for Madrid to 20 in 29 appearances in all competitions since joining from Borussia Dortmund in the summer.

Ancelotti has also confirmed that striker Joselu would return after recovering from an ankle injury, while midfielder Eduardo Camavinga and right-back Dani Carvajal will be included in the squad after being suspended for the win over Sevilla.

“The closer we get to the end of the season, the more difficult it becomes,” he said. “Obviously, we need the best version. Joselu, Bellingham, Camavinga, and Carvajal are back. We can have a good game.”
