Donyell Malen hints for a possible future return to Arsenal.

Malen is in his third season at the Westfalenstadion, with 31 goals and 18 assists in 103 appearances across all competitions.

Although his best form may have come in 2022-23, when Dortmund came close to winning the Bundesliga, he has 12 goals this season.

Despite making 22 starts in league and European games, talk lingers that the Netherlands international may transfer abroad in the summer.

As it stands, his contract has just under two and a half years remaining, putting all parties in a position to consider their next move.

In an interview with Voetbalzone, Malen stated that he would seriously consider returning to Arsenal if there was mutual desire.

Malen was a member of Arsenal’s development setup from 2015 to 2017, appearing on 57 occasions for the club’s Under-18 and Under-23 teams before moving to PSV Eindhoven without earning a professional debut.

Although the dynamic striker enjoys his life in Germany, he admits that he is ready to play in the Premier League.

Donyell Malen desires to join Premier League and re-join Arsenal

Malen stated, “I think, because I played in England as a youth, it is a dream to play in the Premier League.” “I think that’s a lovely dream.”

He said, “Yes, I would [return].” As a teenager, I wanted Arsenal, my favorite club. I used to play there and aspired to make it big. In a football career, there are times when you just must make a decision.

“Yes, I was training with the first team when I was 17, 18 years old, and I made some progress, but I assumed I had to just play professional football.

“I also saw my teammates playing professional football while I was still playing youth football and I knew [leaving] was the right thing to do.”

According to reports, Arsenal will be looking for a new forward in the summer, although a player with more physical presence is anticipated to be preferred over Malen.
