Simon Kjaer’s Transfer News

Simon Kjaer to leave AC Milan at the end of the season

Kjaer’s representative stated that the defender will leave AC Milan on a free transfer at the conclusion of the season when his contract expires.

Simon Kjaer joined Milan on loan in the spring of 2020, alongside Zlatan Ibrahimovic, to provide seasoned strength to the youthful Milan club.

He signed a permanent contract and has made 120 appearances for Milan, making them the team outside of Denmark where he has played the most games.

However, his contract is set to expire, and widespread reports imply that the time has come to part ways as Milan seeks to bolster their weak defensive unit.

Kjaer’s agent, Mikkel Beck, has stated in an interview with Bold that Kjaer’s Milan adventure will stop once the current campaign concludes. There is no drama, and the parties are in good mutual agreement.

“It is a natural farewell to a club where Simon has loved playing for more than four years – at a time that  feels right,” he added.

“Many years ago, Simon told me that one day he hoped to play for AC Milan, and that dream came true  in the most beautiful way. In reality, Milan became the club where Simon played the most games.

“For Simon, this is an ideal circumstance. He will captain Denmark in the European Championship this summer before leaving on a free transfer.

“Actually, his viewpoint is that he wants to decide after the Euros and be able to freely select where the experience should take him and his family.

“So I don’t expect any quick clarification for Simon, just like Oliver Giroud, whose contract also expires – and where he has chosen to continue in the USA.”
