The first World Cup game is always a special occasion, with football fans from all around the world gathering to celebrate the start of the largest event in sports.

On Thursday, Russia’s opening match against Saudi Arabia at the Luzhniki Stadium featured some of football’s greatest icons.

Ronaldo, Diego Maradona, Carles Puyol, Iker Casillas, Xavi, Samuel Eto’o, Didier Drogba, Cafu, Roberto Carlos, and Luis Figo sat together in Moscow to witness the group play. What a group.

The World Cup legends, who have a combined total of 1,204 international caps, sat next to each other in VIP seats as they watched the exciting game.

Casillas, who won the World Cup in 2010 and paraded the trophy on the pitch before kickoff on Thursday, took to Instagram to share the iconic photo of the legends.

‘Define this snapshot with a word!!!’ he captioned his social media image. ‘Who are you looking for here?’

Russia trounced Saudi Arabia 5-0 at the Luzhniki Stadium on Thursday in Group A, giving the former football players a fantastic start.

Russia, the tournament’s lowest-ranked team, took an early lead in the 12th minute through Iury Gazinsky, before Denis Cheryshev extended the lead shortly before halftime.

The Russian team continued to dominate, with Artem Dyzuba scoring before Cheryshev and Aleksandr Golovin added the finishing touches.
