After the first quarter, the Eagles, who were led by quarterback Jalen Hurts in his first Super Bowl appearance. The Chiefs, who were led by quarterback Patrick Mahomes in his third appearance, were knotted at seven points each.
Mahomes was hobbling off the field as the Eagles led the Chiefs 24-14 at the break. He had been battling a severely injured right ankle and appeared to have made it worse.

The game drew at 35-35 with 11 seconds remaining in the contest between the Eagles and Chiefs. Harrison Butker of the Chiefs made a field goal to give his team a three-point lead.

The Chiefs have previously triumphed in two Super Bowls, defeating the San Francisco 49ers in 2020 and the Minnesota Vikings in 1970, respectively. Previously, the Eagles defeated the New England Patriots in 2018.

While Chris Stapleton sang the National Anthem, Babyface sang “America the Beautiful,” and Sheryl Lee Ralph sang “Lift Every Voice and Sing” during the preshow, Rihanna was the halftime performer and disclosed she is pregnant during her upbeat performance.
