Tottenham Hotspur signed Radu Dragusin

The 21-year-old has agreed to a six-and-a-half-year contract extension in North London, keeping him at the club until 2030.

Dragusin, who is said to have turned down offers from Bayern Munich and Napoli in order to join Spurs, has been given the number six shirt, which was previously worn by Davinson Sanchez.

The Romania international could make his debut for Ange Postecoglou’s team when they travel to Manchester United on Saturday.

Dragusin initially joined Genoa on loan from Juventus in 2022, assisting the club in earning promotion to Serie A and triggering clauses that made the move permanent.

This season, the centre-back, who can also play right-back, has made 22 appearances for Genoa in all competitions, scoring twice and assisting on another.

Nineteen of those appearances have come in Serie A, where Genoa is currently 12th in their first season back in the top flight.

Dragusin has also earned 13 caps for Romania since making his debut in March 2022.

Tottenham Hotspur’s second signing of the January transfer window, following the loan signing of Timo Werner from RB Leipzig on Tuesday.

This is Spurs and Genoa’s second deal on Thursday, following full-back Djed Spence’s loan move in the opposite direction.
