AC Milan reached the Champions League semi-finals for the first time in 16 years.

The Rossoneri defeated S.S.C. Napoli on aggregate (1:0, 1:1).

Milan last advanced to the tournament’s semi-finals in 2007. The club won the Champions League by defeating Liverpool in the final (2:1).

AC Milan will play against Inter or Benfica in the Semi-Finals

The Rossoneri advanced to the Champions League semi-finals for the first time in 16 years. Olivier Giroud’s first-half goal, which led to a 1-1 draw and a 2-1 victory overall, made this possible.

In the third minute of stoppage time, the Nigerian forward Victor Osimhen’s thunderous header tied the game. But it was too late because the referee stopped the game suddenly.

In the last four, Milan will face either city rival Inter Milan or Portuguese side Benfica.

After Milan won the first leg of the quarter-finals 1-0 to Napoli. Napoli pushed for the opening goal from the start as the visitors were forced to defend deep.

After 22 minutes, Milan were awarded a penalty after Mario Rui collided with Rafael Leao, but Napoli goalkeeper Alex Meret dived to save Giroud’s low strike.

As a result of the hosts’ intense pressure, Milan were able to exploit the gaps in the home defense and go ahead through Giroud just before halftime.

Rafael Leao raced from his own half past the S.S.C. Napoli defense before passing to Giroud, who slotted home from close range.

Napoli had a glimmer of hope eight minutes from time when Fikayo Tomori handled the ball inside the box, but Mike Maignan saved Khvicha Kvaratskhelia’s penalty.

Osimhen had been restrained all night until his extra-time header, but it was too late for Napoli and their disappointed fans.
