Arsenal breaks another record with a draw against Manchester City

Arsenal faced defending Premier League champions Manchester City in a closely contested match at the Etihad Stadium this evening, providing yet another good effort in this top-of-the-table football clash.

A goalless tie ended Manchester City’s 57-game goal streak and longest-ever winning record at the Etihad Stadium.

Despite Manchester City’s advantage, Arsenal appeared to be the better team, creating more chances and taking more shots on goal.

The Gunners’ dependable defense duo in the centre, William Saliba and Gabriel Magalhaes, kept City’s most informed striker and last season’s Premier League Golden Boot winner, Erling Haaland, quiet as both teams settled for a goalless draw.

Erling Haaland’s problems with William Saliba persisted as the Norwegian attacker failed to pierce Arsenal’s defense at the Etihad Stadium.

Arsenal has the greatest defensive record in the Premier League this season, with only 24 goals conceded in 28 games. They now lead the league with an average of 0.86 goals conceded per match.

Liverpool also boasts outstanding defensive capabilities, conceding an average of 0.93 goals per game,  making them the league’s second-best defense.

Arsenal defender William Sailba was delighted with his performance: “It was a tough game against a good team; we are not completely satisfied, but that is fine; we take the point. We understand how difficult it is to come here and refuse to concede, and we performed admirably.

“Of course, we can be proud of stopping them from scoring.” “Nevertheless, it’s not finished, there are nine games still and we have to win them,” he said.

A draw with City has lowered Arsenal to second place in the Premier League rankings, with 65 points, while City is third.

The draw at the Etihad also confirms Arsenal’s status as top title contenders, as they seek their first Premier League title since 2004.

Liverpool moved to the top of the table with 67 points. The Reds are two point ahead of the Gunners, following a convincing victory over Crystal Palace earlier today.
