Arsenal makes a £30 million bid for Timber

Arsenal is working on a deal to capture Ajax defender Jurrien Timber, although he may face competition from Bayern Munich.

The North London club made an initial offer in the range of £30 million ($38.3 million). However, it’s possible that it will be declined since Ajax values the 22-year-old more closely at £50 million ($63.9 million).

Arsenal is hopeful of acquiring Timber. But, Bayern Munich is monitoring the situation and it is unknown if they would submit a formal proposal.

Mikel Arteta wants to improve his center-back alternatives after the squad suffered last season due to William Saliba’s back ailment.

On March 16, Saliba got an injury while Arsenal kept the league lead. They won just five of their last 11 games without him, finishing second behind Manchester City.

While working on a Timber deal, Arsenal is also planning enhanced bids for Declan Rice and Kai Havertz.

Arsenal likely to sign Timber from Ajax and other News

Arsenal had a proposal worth £80 million ($102.2 million) plus £10 million ($12.7 million) in add-ons rejected by West Ham last week and are poised to return with a second bid closer to West Ham’s asking price, which is estimated to be at least £100 million ($127.8 million).

Chelsea is willing to make another offer for Havertz. Arsenal have so far been unwilling to match Chelsea’s £70 million ($89.4 million) valuation of the attacker. They are likely to make an improved second proposal for the 24-year-old.

According to ESPN, Chelsea is under pressure to drop their expectations after learning that Havertz has no intention of signing a new deal.

According to rumors, Havertz and Rice are both eager to sign with Arsenal. However, using profanity doesn’t appear to be a concern.
