Four La Liga players nominated alongside Lionel Messi for FIFA Best Player Award

For the Best Player award in 2022, FIFA has selected a shortlist of 14 players. The list have Lionel Messi, Kylian Mbappe, and Karim Benzema considered the favorites. Among La Liga players four are nominated for the list.

The trio, who assisted Los Blancos in winning the Champions League, includes Real Madrid teammates. The names are Luka Modric and Vinicius Junior in addition to last year’s Ballon d’Or winner Karim Benzema. With 42 goals this year, Robert Lewandowski of Barcelona is also included on the list.

After performing well for both his club and country, Jude Bellingham, a Real Madrid target, has been nominated. Sadio Mane from the Bundesliga has also been shortlisted. Along with Messi and Mbappe from Paris Saint-Germain, Neymar and Achraf Hakimi are also on the list.

The Final Four Players are all from the Premier League: Mohamed Salah of Liverpool, Erling Haaland, Kevin de Bruyne, and Julian Alvarez of Manchester City.

On February 27, the winner will be announced, and Benzema will be hoping for a historic double victory by winning both the Ballon d’Or and FIFA Best Player awards.
