Following Sacha Boey’s transfer to Bayern Munich, the Turkish champions have spent the last week looking for a right-sided defender.

Gala are set to replace Boey before today’s deadline, having recouped €30 million (£25.5 million) for the highly rated Frenchman.

According to Fabrizio Romano, Gala and Forest have agreed to Forest’s relocation to Istanbul following the African Cup of Nations.

According to the report, it will be a permanent deal, with the fee yet to be disclosed. Thus, all that remains is to sign the contracts.

Aurier will be away for at least a few days after his Ivorian team defeated AFCON champions Senegal on penalties on Monday night.

He hasn’t played for Forest since a 1-0 home loss to Everton in early December due to injury. However, he has participated in three of the team’s final four games.

That appears to be his final appearance for the club, as a move to Turkey is nearly complete, marking the end of his 18-month stay at the City Ground.

Prior to their 2022 Premier League comeback, Aurier joined in the summer and made 41 appearances across all competitions.

Forest, on the other hand, has plenty of cover in that position, making a replacement unlikely on deadline day.

World Cup winner Gonzalo Montiel has covered since Aurier’s departure to AFCON, and Neco Williams also remains at the club despite loan interest from elsewhere.

Ola Aina is a right-back by trade, but he spent the majority of the season playing left-back. When he returns from Nigeria duty, he can offer more depth.

Aurier’s move to Galatasaray will reunite him with former Tottenham Hotspur teammate Tanguy Ndombele and Ivorian compatriot Wilfried Zaha. However, his debut will be determined by Ivory Coast’s performance against Mali on Saturday evening in the quarter-finals.
