Gavi has been identified as a potential transfer target for Paris Saint-Germain.
According to The Athletic’s Peter Rutzler and Pol Ballus, Barcelona midfielder Gavi is a target for Paris Saint-Germain this summer.
While the Blaugrana do not want to sell the outstanding Spanish youth and La Masia graduate, the club’s well-documented financial woes may compel the Catalan club’s administration to reconsider.
The player seems to remain out of action until the summer after suffering a cruciate ligament injury in November.
Gavi is likely to play a role in Luis Enrique’s attempt to rebuild PSG following Mbappé’s expected departure this summer.
The Spaniard has already played 111 games for Xavi’s struggling Barcelona team and has 27 caps for Spain.
Gavi is under contract with Barcelona until the end of 2025/2026, and his condition, as well as his enormous potential, would warrant a significant sum, which only PSG and a few other clubs could pay.
Though it’s unclear how Gavi feels about the change, it might be one that helps everyone at the right cost.
