Kylian Mbappé confirms PSG exit this Summer

The 25-year-old’s exit will end a seven-year run that has solidified his standing as the world’s most feared striker. Mbappé has been a long-term Real Madrid target, but no agreement has been struck, leaving the door open for a Premier League team to fulfill his substantial financial demands.

Mbappé, who turned down a world record £259 million bid from Saudi Pro League club Al-Hilal in July, will be out of contract at the end of June after choosing not to exercise an option for an additional year on his contract. The conditions of his departure have not been finalized, with the club and player hoping to finalize details in the coming months.

Although Mbappé can leave for free when his contract expires, there are various situations in which he would leave in an honourable manner, according to all parties involved. One possibility is that Mbappé extends his contract with a sale agreed upon, ensuring a transfer fee for PSG; other choices include passing his signing-on fee at his future employer to PSG or making financial concessions upon departure, such as sacrificing bonuses. The expectation is that he will reach an agreement with the club that brought him to the top division.

Kylian Mbappé to make his next destination at Real Madrid?

Real are eager to make Mbappé their highest-paid player after he turned them down in 2022 and pledged his immediate future to PSG. However, conversations are not said to have accelerated, and other suitors in England or elsewhere may still perceive an opportunity to turn his mind.

PSG had hoped Mbappé, who scored a hat-trick for France in the 2022 World Cup final, would stay longer, but his departure will allow the club to take the next step in its youth-oriented strategy.

Next season will be their first without Mbappé, Neymar, or Lionel Messi; this signals the end of the “Galáctico” era for PSG, and reducing his yearly £171 million contract will allow for multiple arrivals. PSG is considering signing Victor Osimhen, a Napoli striker, and Warren Zaïre-Emery, a 17-year-old homegrown midfielder, for fresh contracts.

Mbappé scored in Wednesday night’s Champions League last-16 first-leg triumph over Real Sociedad, and PSG hopes that despite failing to win Europe’s biggest prize with his five Ligue 1 crowns, its talisman will leave on a high note.
