Harry Kane made Bundesliga history by breaking Erling Haaland’s record, but Bayern Munich lost shockingly to Bochum on Sunday.
Bayern Munich may be eight points behind league leaders Bayer Leverkusen, but Harry Kane continues to set Bundesliga records.
Kane’s 25th league goal of the season in 22 games is the quickest by any player, surpassing Erling Haaland, who took 25 games for Borussia Dortmund.
The 30-year-old has now surpassed Toni’s record of 24 goals scored by a Bayern Munich player in his rookie season, which was achieved in 2007/08. Not only that, but Kane is now just five goals away from matching Uwe Seeler’s league record of 30, set in 1963/64.
Harry Kane broke his first record in just a few weeks after joining Tottenham Hotspur on August 12. The international superstar is a world-renowned footballer, and since his signing, fans have flocked to stores to get Kane shirts.
The day after Kane signed, Bayern Munich sold more than 13,000 shirts with his name on the back, setting a new record. Bayern’s previous record sales came after their 2020 Champions League victory over PSG.
Bayern have now lost three consecutive games, first to league leaders Bayer Leverkusen and then 1-0 to Lazio in the Champions League. The weekend’s results put Bayern eight points behind Xabi Alonso’s club.
