Jayden Danns has been crowned Premier League 2 Player of the Month for February.
Liverpool forward Jayden Danns has been voted Premier League 2 Player of the Month for February, following a momentous few weeks for the 18-year-old, who made his first senior appearance for the Reds and scored his first senior goal.
Danns assisted twice in as many PL2 games and earned his senior debut under Jurgen Klopp, coming on as a substitute in a 4-1 Premier League triumph over Luton Town.
He then came in as a substitute in Liverpool’s 1-0 EFL Cup final victory over Chelsea, before scoring twice in the FA Cup fifth round triumph over Southampton.
Danns is one of a number of academy players to make the jump to the first team at a time when Liverpool’s squad is plagued by injuries.
Danns is the first Reds player to earn the award this season, having topped an eight-man shortlist chosen by the Premier League’s Football Development Panel.
During a great month on a personal level, the Reds striker provided two assists for the U21s while also winning and converting a penalty.
Danns also made his senior debut for the club, helping Jürgen Klopp’s side win the Carabao Cup at Wembley and scoring twice against Southampton at Anfield.
He beat out seven other players to earn the prize from the Premier League Football Development Panel.
