Mikel Arteta has been crowned Premier League Manager of the Month in February.

Mikel Arteta is the Premier League Manager of the Month

The manager won the award for February after leading us to four wins in a row and scoring 18 goals, beating out Pep Guardiola and Erik ten Hag, and celebrated with his coaching staff, which included Inaki Cana, Carlos Cuesta, Albert Stuivenberg, Nicolas Jover, and Miguel Molina.

Mikel Arteta was the only manager in the division to have a perfect record in February, which began with a euphoric 3-1 victory against table-topping Liverpool that put us back in championship contention, and the momentum from that saw us beat West Ham United 6-0.

Burnley were then thrashed 5-0 away from home, and we finished the month with a 4-1 victory over Newcastle United at Emirates Stadium, bringing us within touching distance of Liverpool and Manchester City at the top of the league.

Mikel’s first award this season, after being nominated five times, adds to his expanding collection of divisional monthly distinctions. Since taking over in December 2019, he has won Manager of the Month seven times, making him one of only seven managers in the competition’s history to do so.

One of them is Arsene Wenger, and when you add his 15 victories to Mikel’s, only Manchester United and Liverpool have won more frequently than Arsenal.
