Joshua Kimmich 'under Arsenal's radar for the Summer Transfer'

According to reports, Arsenal have approached Bayern Munich about signing vice-captain Joshua Kimmich.

The 29-year-old is in the final 18 months of his contract and has yet to commit to a new one.

It has been claimed that Arsenal attacker Kai Havertz had a ‘secret’ conversation with his German teammate during the recent international break.

According to reports, the club is ‘using this talk to test the interest of the Bayern star’.

Joshua Kimmich: Arsenal has made a move for Bayern’s standout midfielder

Arsenal is one of five teams intent on signing Kimmich, with the midfielder open to a move to the Emirates.

According to Football Transfers, Arsenal was informed that Bayern will not engage in any discussions about a move for Kimmich until the end of the season.

However, Kimmich will remain a major target for Mikel Arteta’s side this summer.

Bayern attempted to sell the versatile midfielder to Newcastle last summer in a deal that included defender Kieran Trippier, for whom they made three bids.

In recent months, injuries have forced him to play right-back, as Thomas Tuchel’s side has distanced itself from Bayer Leverkusen.

According to sources, Arsenal’s interest in the German will increase significantly once the season is over.

Kimmich does not have an agent, so the north London club had to approach Bayern directly to learn about his availability.

Paris Saint-Germain is keeping interest for the midfielder, as are Barcelona, Manchester City, and Liverpool.

Bayern, the defending Bundesliga champions, have had a dreadful season so far.

Tuchel’s side is 13 points behind Leverkusen, despite the spectacular £82 million addition of Harry Kane this summer.

And they have a difficult path to the Champions League title, facing Arsenal in the quarter-finals and possibly meeting Manchester City or Real Madrid in the semis.

Arsenal appear to be the frontrunners to recruit Real Sociedad’s long-term Bayern target Martin Zubimendi.
