De Bruyne has already established himself as one of the greatest players to ever represent the North-West giants. Thanks, to his performances and achievements since 2015.

A remarkable 96 goals and 153 assists have been scored in 358 appearances across all competitions, with the 2019-20 Premier League campaign leading the way with 33 such contributions in 35 league appearances.

At the Etihad Stadium, the Belgian has won five Premier League titles, seven domestic cups, and a Champions League trophy.

Kevin has had health issues in recent seasons, most notably a hamstring ailment that has kept him out since August.

At Man City, his availability is undeniable. This is because, he has made at least 40 games in all competitions over the last four seasons.

Nonetheless, he will not reach that figure in 2023-24, when he returns to action following the November international break.

According to Football Insider, City executives will continue to consider not extending De Bruyne’s contract if he does not stay fit in the future.

According to the article, City are not in a haste to extend De Bruyne’s current contract, which expires in 2025.

Pep Guardiola may want to keep De Bruyne as his club captain and one of five senior leaders in the dressing room.

It appears that Kevin won’t be eligible for a new deal unless he demonstrates his tenacity during the next year.

However, it is stated that both parties’ preference is to eventually prolong their relationship beyond a decade, which will be attained at the end of his present arrangement.

City lost an experienced crucial midfielder in Ilkay Gundogan prior to this season. Despite a recent contract renewal, Bernardo Silva, another key figure, has been linked with a move elsewhere.
