Manchester Utd rejects Wan-Bissaka, Denzel Dumfries swap deal

Manchester United reportedly turned down an Inter Milan swap offer that would have seen Denzel Dumfries move to Old Trafford and Aaron Wan-Bissaka arrive at San Siro.

Dumfries, 27, is unable to reach an agreement with Inter over a new contract, and his current terms with the Italian club are set to expire in the summer of 2025.

Over the last year or so, there has been a lot of speculation about the defender’s future, with Man United reportedly admiring him.

Dumfries has been a regular for his Serie A team this season, appearing on 18 occasions across all competitions, scoring two goals and assisting four times.

Manchester Utd said ‘NO’ to Inter-Milan for Swap Deal between TWO Defenders

According to The Sun, Inter approached the Red Devils with an offer that would have seen Dumfries join the 20-time English champions in exchange for Wan-Bissaka.

However, the report claims that Man United has rejected the approach, with Erik ten Hag’s side not interested in the deal at this time.

Wan-Bissaka’s future at Manchester United remains uncertain, despite the fact that a one-year option in his contract was recently activated, extending his stay until June 2025.

This season, the 26-year-old has been playing regularly for Manchester United. He has appeared in 17 games across all competitions and assisting twice.

Wan-Bissaka has benefited from full-back absences this season, with Diogo Dalot called on to play left-back on several occasions due to Luke Shaw and Tyrell Malacia injuries.
The former Crystal Palace youngster played left-back against Tottenham Hotspur in the Premier League last time out, but Shaw pulled out of the squad at the last minute.

Wan-Bissaka has also been linked with a return to Palace, with the club reportedly interested in re-signing the player they sold in the summer of 2019.

The right-back has made 177 appearances for the Red Devils, scoring twice and assisting 13 times.

Wan-Bissaka was expected to leave Manchester United in January due to his lack of playing time in the first half of the 2022-23 season, but an injury sustained by Dalot at the 2022 World Cup allowed the Englishman to get a run in the team at the start of last year.
