Manchester City Women’s Yui Hasegawa has signed a new two-year contract extension. The Japan international will now remain at Joie Stadium until summer 2027.

Hasegawa, who joined on deadline day in summer 2022, has developed into one of the world’s best defensive midfielders during her time at Joie Stadium. After signing her contract extension, she stated, “I am extremely happy.” I could not be happier.

“One of the main reasons I extended was the football style. I love ours!

“This year, we’ve made significant progress and gained valuable experience. I’m very excited because we have the chance to win both the league and the cup. I genuinely want to win the league. I want to play in the Champions League and win it with City.

“The people are nice, the football is good, I’m so happy to be here!”

Yui Hasegawa is staying TWO-more Year at Etihad

Head Coach Gareth Taylor said, “We’re delighted that Yui has extended her stay with the Club. She has been exceptional since she arrived here. She does so much without the ball; her anticipation is fantastic, and her performance under pressure is exceptional.
