Nkunku: Pochettino confirms injury update of the Forward

Nkunku Injury news
Pochettino announced that the attacker suffered a knee injury in Chelsea’s final pre-season friendly against Borussia Dortmund, which ended 1-1.

Nkunku, a £52 million summer acquisition from RB Leipzig, scored three goals during on the team’s US tour. He was later got the replacement at Soldier Field after just 20 minutes.

The 25-year-old will undergo additional testing by Chelsea’s medical personnel. Pochettino declined to place the blame for the loss on the field, which is a common tactic for NFL games.

“The doctors are checking him out, and I’m hoping it’s nothing serious.”
“He fell in the action, which could have been a penalty, and he feels something in his knee.”
“But we hope it’s nothing serious,” Pochettino added.

“We hope he can rejoin the team soon.” We’ll need a few days to evaluate him.

“The pitch isn’t perfect because the facilities are now used for another sport, so we took some risks.”
“However, we will not blame the injury on the pitch. It was horrible luck for me.”

Chelsea captain Reece James led a back four that comprised Thiago Silva, Ben Chilwell, and Levi Colwill, who had signed a six-year contract earlier in the day.

The Blues dominated the first half, with Nicolas Jackson denied by goalkeeper Alexander Meyer before Colwill failed to finish from close range at a corner.

As Meyer saved from Chilwell and Raheem Sterling blasted an effort wide, Nkunku exited the ground clutching his knee and was replaced by Mykhailo Mudryk.

Pochettino made no substitutions at halftime, despite Dortmund taking the lead against the run of play with their first effort on goal, Wolf turning home from close range amid offside protests.

Kepa Arrizabalaga then had to save a strike from the goalscorer before Mason Burstow, 19, ensured Chelsea finished pre-season unbeaten by flicking in a header.
