France’s Olivier Giroud equals Henry’s record as France defeats Australia in the World Cup
Giroud ties Thierry Henry for the all-time lead in goal scoring with 51 goals. In the 71st minute of France’s opening World Cup match against Australia, he scored 2 goals. The second goal is the assist by the youngster Kylian Mbappe. Thanks to Mbappe who helped Grioud to score goal and eqaulize the record.
The 36 years old, the World Cup winner was doubtful he would be selected for the national squad. After the Ballon d’Or winner, Karim Benzema, was ruled out of the competition, it’s become clear that France would require his talents once more.
The former Ligue 1 champion has been playing at the highest level for nearly two decades. Giroud has 22 goals in 55 games for AC Milan, where he also won the Serie A title. It is reasonable to believe that time has not slowed him down.
This achievement important understanding him as one of the best French forwards of all time.
