Outsiders won the IEM Rio Major after a magical comeback run against Heroic.
During Russia’s invasion of Ukraine, Virtus.pro created the Russian tag Outsiders. The Outsiders tag was created as a squad name. It was because Virtus.pro’s ownership group has ties to organizations and individuals sanctioned by the American and European governments.
Outsiders’ first big victory comes after entering the event as a minor contender. However, the majority of the world’s top teams collapsed early in the competition, bringing up the surprising final between Outsiders and Heroic.
But when the two underdog teams entered into the server for the grand final, the action did not disappoint. Outsiders won the first round on Mirage with a 16-12 score in a much closer match than the score appears. Outsiders, on the other hand, chose Overpass for the second map of the grand final.
