Sadio Mane, the Senegal captain, married his longtime girlfriend, Aisha Tamba, on Sunday, January 7, in a private ceremony in Dakar, Senegal.
This comes just six days before the start of the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) in Ivory Coast on Saturday, January 13.
The Al Nassr player is currently training with his Senegalese teammates in preparation for the upcoming AFCON tournament in 2023.
Before departing for his AFCON duties, Mane also presented a stadium he built in his hometown of Bambali.
According to reports, the 31-year-old Al Nassr striker first noticed Aisha Tamba when she was 16 years old, but he did not approach her formally because she was a minor, and he had been secretly courting Aisha Tamba before they married over the weekend.
Tamba was seen posing in her white gown in a post shared by Senegalese photographer Magvision, while Mane wore a traditional white Arabian outfit.
Aisha Tamba was escorted into a vehicle while members of the community rallied around her in another video shared by a Senegalese TV station, Dakar Live.
Aisha Tamba was born in Casamance, a town near Bambali, where Mane is from.
Tamba comes from a humble background and, interestingly, she does not use social media.

Sadio Mane revealed the ideal woman he would marry in 2022. He stated that several women have inquired about his relationship status and why he isn’t married, but he will marry someone with no social media presence and no religion.
“I’ve seen a lot of girls ask me why I’m not married, but I’m sorry if you’re wasting your time.” “The woman I marry will not be on social media,” Mane explained.
