Enzo Fernandez has dismissed suggestions that he wants to leave Chelsea in the near future.

Enzo Fernandez denies Chelsea exit rumors

The central midfielder, who joined Chelsea for £106.8 million from Benfica, has recently finished his first year with the club.

Although the Argentina international has occasionally demonstrated his talent, he has also fallen short of expectations.

He could try to leave in the summer, although his contract with the Chlesea ends at the conclusion of 2031–2022.

His agent promptly responded to the speculation, claiming that the 2022 World Cup winner was looking for a new club, but it was then stated that the 23-year-old wanted to join Barcelona.

Between those stories, Fernandez put on one of his best performances of the season, netting a stunning free kick in a 3-1 victory over Aston Villa in their FA Cup fourth round replay.

Fernandez scored for the second time in a row on Monday night, striking the top corner from eight yards to secure a 3-1 Premier League victory over Crystal Palace.

Fernandez, as at Villa, celebrated wildly with the visiting Chelsea fans, and he decided to address his future immediately following the game at Selhurst Park.

Enzo told ESPN, “I do not want to leave Chelsea. I’ve felt really comfortable here with my teammates and the coaching staff since the day I came.

“The folks at the club are treating me extremely nicely, and I appreciate that. I will stay here as long as they want me to. I’m not sure where such rumours came from, but I completely deny them.”

Enzo Fernandez and Chelsea Stats

Fernandez has now scored seven goals and provided three assists in 52 games across all competitions, with only six of those coming in the Premier League.

Enzo Fernandez also expressed a desire to represent Chelsea in the Champions League. However, the West London club is already looking at a best-case scenario of the Europa League or Europa Conference League in 2024-25.

Despite facing Liverpool in the EFL Cup final and remaining in the FA Cup in the fifth round, Chelsea are 10th in the Premier League standings, two points behind seventh-placed Newcastle United.
