Nepal advanced to the semifinals of ACC Men's Premier Cup

Nepal national cricket team has advanced to the semifinals of the ACC Men’s Premier Cup. Nepal’s victory over Hong Kong, followed by Malaysia’s defeat to Qatar, sealed its spot in the top four.

On Monday, Nepal defeated Hong Kong by eight wickets, while Malaysia lost by four wickets to Qatar.

Nepal is in Group A of the competition, alongside Malaysia, Hong Kong, Qatar, and Saudi Arabia. Nepal leads the table with six points after winning three consecutive games. After three matches, Malaysia, Qatar, and Hong Kong each have two points. Meanwhile, Saudi Arabia has one win and one loss from two matches. Nepal’s last group-stage game against Saudi Arabia is scheduled for April 17.

Oman currently leads Group B with six points from three matches. Kuwait and the UAE are tightly tied with four points from three matches each, while Cambodia and Bahrain have yet to win.

The victor of Group A will face the second-placed club from Group B, while the top team from Group B will face the runner-up from Group A in the semifinals.

The event winner will qualify for the Asia Cup in 2025. Nepal are the tournament’s defending winners, having won it in 2023. They won the title after defeating UAE on the reserve day.
