Barcelona has reportedly turned down a €60 million deal from an undisclosed Premier League club for Brazilian attacker Raphinha.
According to Diario Sport, Barcelona has chosen not to let Raphinha depart for less than €80 million after getting a substantial bid from an English team.
The team that made the bid is unknown, but Rapinha has previously been linked to Newcastle, Tottenhamand Arsenal.
It’s unclear whether Barcelona will receive any bigger bids for Raphinha this summer, but even if they do, the Brazilian has recently expressed his emotions about his future.
Raphinha said he was determined to complete his current deal after scoring twice in Barcelona’s 3-2 Champions League victory over Paris Saint-Germain.
Xavi has also praised the attacker in recent weeks, citing his performance on the left side of the attack. He has three goals and two assists in his past five games.
Barcelona rejected a £60 million approach for Raphinha from an unnamed Premier League club
The 27-year-old Brazilian moved to Barcelona from Leeds for £57 million in the summer of 2022.
That came after he turned down offers from Arsenal and Chelsea to pursue his dream move.
The winger had hard time to establish himself as a proper starter since arriving at the club.
Tottenham are the latest team connected with bringing Raphinha back to the Premier League, where he excelled at Elland Road.
Raphinha scored ten goals in his rookie season, helping Barcelona win LaLiga.
He has had multiple injury concerns this season, limiting him to eight goals in 33 games.
However, he has come up big twice in recent weeks, scoring the winner against Las Palmas and then two goals in the Champions League’s 3-2 first leg victory against PSG.
According to Spanish daily Sport, this has prompted “big European clubs” to refocus their attention on him.
It goes on to say that Barcelona has set a £68.3 million price tag on his head as a result of his recent strong form.
