Luis Suárez scored his first goal in an Inter Miami jersey against Al Hilal in the Riyadh Cup.
Luis Suárez executed a perfect striker’s run, following the ball after Julian Gressel’s shot was tipped wide. His trailing run allowed him to capitalize on the loose ball, which he tucked home cleanly. The strike was subject to a lengthy VAR review, but after the referee team examined it, they gave the Herons their first of the day.
The Herons gave up two early first-half goals to the Saudi Pro League team, but they recovered well before halftime. After Suarez opened the scoring for the MLS team, Lionel Messi appeared to add another, but the Uruguayan was caught offside in the buildup to the Argentine’s goal.
Despite the Uruguayan’s opener, the Herons lost 4-3 to Al Hilal in their Riyadh Cup opener.
The Herons’ preseason World Tour will continue on Thursday, when they face Cristiano Ronaldo and Al-Nassr. Then there are three more games until the start of the MLS season.
