Manchester City are apparently willing to split ways with Jack Grealish during the summer transfer season.

Manchester City to sell Jack Grealish this summer?

In 2021, City agreed to spend a then-British record £100 million to recruit Grealish from his boyhood club Aston Villa.

Although Grealish played a major role in the club’s treble-winning season in 2022-23, his numbers did not always justify his price tag.

In 116 games, he has 14 goals and 17 assists, but the current season has been a major disappointment.

In 13 starts and three substitute appearances in the Premier League and Champions League, he has scored three goals and assisted once, however injuries have limited his game time since the turn of the year.

Most notably, the England international has played only 702 minutes in the Premier League this season, causing Grealish to fall down the rankings.

Manager Pep Guardiola has previously stated that the 28-year-old must fight to re-establish himself in the starting eleven, with possibilities likely to arise during a hectic April period if he can overcome a groin ailment.

Nonetheless, HITC believes Grealish might be one of the fall guys if City decides to expand their squad this summer.

According to the report, there are fears behind the scenes that Grealish has not developed as expected.

With Grealish only halfway through a six-year contract, City may struggle to get a fair price.

Grealish turning 29 in September will not help matters, especially because the creative is also one of the club’s highest-paid players.

No teams have been named as prospective Grealish suitors, but any that do emerge will almost certainly have to invest at least £40 million unless a loan agreement can be arranged.

While Grealish is expected to return to action following the international break, his last start for City came on January 7 against Huddersfield Town in the FA Cup.
