Hakan Çalhanoğlu has turned down a club’s offer to play in Saudi Arabia.
The star player from Turkey has been an integral part of Simone Inzaghi’s squad for Inter not just this season but also the one before. He has made a name for himself as one of Europe’s most dependable deeper midfielders.
According to La Gazzetta dello Sport, Saudi Arabia did make an approach last summer, and it was a costly offer. Al Hilal made a bid for the Turks in August, and in the last few weeks, they made another attempt to sign the midfield player.
It was an open offer that will be valid until the end of the summer. They had offered the midfielder a four-year contract worth €18 million per season, but Alhanolu’s offer was clear. Hakan Çalhanoğlu rejected the approach, just as he did in the summer, and he intends to stay.
