Lamine Yamal extends his contract with Barcelona until 2026.
Barcelona announced on Monday that teenage sensation Lamine Yamal has signed a new three-year contract with the club.
The contract is the longest Yamal can sign right now because he is only 16 years old, but sources indicate that plans for a longer-term contract are already in place.
Lamine’s deal also includes a one-billion-euro buyout clause, similar to those in place for Ronald Araujo, Pedri, Gavi, and Ansu Fati.
The club’s official statement is as follows:
“FC Barcelona and Yamal have reached an agreement on a new contract binding the player to the club until 30 June 2026, with the buyout clause set at one billion euros.”
The news is wonderful for Barcelona because Lamine Yamal is demonstrating why he is so popular this season.
Barcelona’s latest wonderkid has already smashed club and country records and has impressed in the first squad, appearing in eight La Liga games.
He was expected to play for Barca Atletic this season, but given his impact, it wouldn’t be surprising if he played the entire season with Xavi’s team.
