Victor Osimhen | Real Madrid want to sign Osimhen?

Real Madrid is reportedly undecided about pursuing a deal for Paris Saint-Germain forward Kylian Mbappe.

For many years, there has been a strong link between Los Blancos and the 2018 World Cup winner, with the expectation that he will eventually join Real Madrid.

However, in 2022, Mbappe famously rejected the chance to complete a move to Real Madrid in favor of extending his stay at Parc des Princes.

Twenty months later, the clubs are in a similar situation, with Real awaiting Mbappe’s decision on where to spend the next phase of his career.

With less than six months left on his contract, the 25-year-old is free to meet with Real officials and sign a pre-contract agreement if he so desires.

Nonetheless, PSG president Nasser Al Khelaifi has spoken positively about Mbappe’s long-term prospects, reiterating his desire to keep the attacker for an eighth season.

As of now, no formal announcement appears to be in the works, with Mbappe himself stating that he has little intention of making a quick decision with time on his side.

This only adds to Real’s uncertainty, with some believing that a signing of Osimhen should be prioritized instead. Osimhen to be signed by Madrid but not Mbappe?

There are differing opinions on whether Real should continue to pursue Mbappe, with some believing that Osimhen “is the better bet.”

Several club officials are said to believe that signing a player who can act as a direct replacement for Karim Benzema would be more beneficial in the long run.

Recent signing Osimhen’s contract, which keeps him with the Serie A team until 2026, supposedly has a release clause.

With only eight goals and two assists this season, the 25-year-old has yet to replicate his form from 2022-23. However, he is still regarded as one of the best strikers in the world.

In recent months, Chelsea and Arsenal have both been linked with the Nigeria international, who is known to want to play in the Premier League at some point in his career.`
